This section includes short articles on molecules present in and relevant to the function of exocrine pancreatic cells. The long term goal is to create a parts list for each major cell type. Each entry will include:
1. A general description of the structure and function of the molecule with references to review articles, seminal papers and links to NCBI.
2. Information on the specific function of the molecule in the pancreas including its subcellular localization. References will be as inclusive as possible for all work on this molecule in the pancreas.
3. Tools for the study of this molecule including antibodies, viral vectors and transgenic mice will be listed with emphasis on those confirmed by the author or community members. Links to methods are included when appropriate.
Molecule pages can be accessed by the search function, alphabetic listing below, or by links embedded in other sections of the web site.
We invite members of the pancreas research community to volunteer to write Molecule Pages for molecules that you have interest and expertise in. Please contact one of the Editors for approval and assignment. Instructions for preparing molecule pages can be found here.
