About Me:
I am a Professor at the University of Michigan in the Dept of Molecular and Integrative Physiology. I have studied the function of the exocrine pancreas with some forrays into pancreatic disease models for nearly forty years. I enjoy attending the annual meeting of the American Pancreatic Association every year to catch up with my friends. At Michigan I also teach GI physiology to medical students and mentor PhD students. Previously, I also directed a Predoctoral Training Grant in Systems and Integrative Biology and served as Acting Director of the Center for Integrative Genomics, a mouse phenotyping facility. Currently, I am in the process of closing my research laboratory and have reduced my University effort to 75%. Outside of work I am interested in alternative energy and enjoy hiking, kyaking, reading, and visiting with my grandchildren.
